Anywho, back to ironing. I don't mind the chore...it definitely beats doing the dishes or dusting the blinds. I think I like it because I am such a visual person and so it is easy to feel like I accomplished something- here is the big, wrinkly ironing pile and then there are all the nicely pressed clothes hanging in the closet where they belong...beautiful. Not to mention that I can do it while watching Netflix :) Most of our ironing is Nick's dress shirts- occasionally Leo or I have something, but not often. (Why do they make infant clothing that needs to be ironed? I know, it is because most everyone doesn't do it and it looks okay...but it just makes me cringe to look at it knowing that it would look so much better pressed! And yes, I am one of those people who irons the dirty laundry bag...don't judge me.) Tonight I lost count around shirt 9; I like being able to iron Nick's shirts though...it is a quick and easy way to feel like a good wife :)
So there is my tangent on ironing. Those thoughts were a lot more cohesive in my head...ironing is also great because it is a fairly mindless activity and I was thinking about all these things!
*Disclaimer: I would probably rather do the dishes than iron a french-cuff shirt...while I love the look of them on, I hate to iron them!*

Funny, we were on the same page this day -- I spent the evening ironing all of Spencer's dress shirts so he could pack. I always liked ironing (as I'm sure E & N would remember). The more our family has grown, the less consistent I have been about getting it done, but it does feel like a nice service to perform and you're right, you can easily see what you've accomplished. I think that's why I like mowing the lawn, too. I am with you on the French cuffs, though--they are too hard!
I also like the satisfaction of seeing the dress shirts all pressed and hanging neatly in the closet. Preferably organized by color. : ) I do remember teasing Mikelle for ironing her jeans growing up. Sorry dear! And I am with you on the infant clothes. One should really just be able to machine wash and tumble dry all of their things and be done. Heaven knows you spend enough time washing their clothes as it is, considering the number of outfits they can go through in a day. Good thing they are so adorable!
In my defense, the REASON I ironed the jeans is because I was hang-drying them out of fear that they would SHRINK, so then they were all crusty. Jeans that are tumble dried (a habit I have embraced for many years now) do not require ironing. :)
I like the shirts all organized by color, too. It makes it so much more appealing to the eye!
